Carrypad.com is Live.

Posted on 01 December 2009 By Chippy

A few moments ago I posted an article on UMPCPortal to say that Carrypad is live. I wasn’t lying!

Welcome to Carrypad, welcome to a fresh focus on consumer handheld and mobile internet devices and welcome to a new community.

We’ve already loaded up the site with some fresh articles and I’d recommend that you take a look at the review of the Wirelession pad that Coldsun has posted. It’s an interesting, low-priced device based on a fast processor. The manufacturer is promising capacitive touchscreens and Android options in a very short timeframe. If you’re sad about the Crunchpad, this is something to watch. Speaking of Crunchpad alternatives, I’ve posted an article listing 6 devices that offer a similar experience. It won’t stop there though as we’re expecting a whole lot more pad-style devices in 2010.

Don’t forget to check out the list of products that we’ve got in the database and to sign up as a member. Get into the community section of the site and start connecting with others by creating a group around a product or application or searching for products and keyboards that people have in their profile.

Over the next 48 hours, expect a full review of the excellent Arcos 5 Internet Tablet and a competition to win a MIFI 2352 from our friends at Mobilx.EU

Welcome to Carrypad!

    Congrats Steve!
been following u on umpcportal so now this is set on my bookmark too.
    Good luck :)

If I may ask/request. There are so many devices lately for this market and I still haven’t bought anything. Why? since I can’t sort all of the devices by functionality. Functionality is subjective, but u can easily break it into a few categories.
I am looking for a device 5-7″ which is either XP or Android with two distinct features: GPS and Video conferencing like Skype.
So far I only knew about the X70, but didn’t like it.
Maybe through some cool search on your site we will be able to sort such queries.

    Thanks and good luck again!
