This video shows a 10” Compal tablet that looks almost production ready in terms of casing but as with all the other devices there was no information about who would produce this device and when it would be available. As far was we know, this one, along with all the other prototypes we saw, might never come to the market.

I had the pleasure of spending about an hour with Bob where he demonstrated the Mobinnova Beam, highlighted an excelent Morgan Stanley mobile internet report and chit-chatted about some of the announcements, successes and challenges that remain for ARM and it’s partners. He also took 5 minutes to record an audio interview.

Despite the interest that the Joojoo [Portal page] (formerly CrunchPad) had generated early on, it seems as though all of the legal troubles have taken over where excitement for the device once was. Consider this a summary post to get us back on track with the device itself rather than the debacle surrounding it’s development. [...]

One of the coolest features on the Nokia N900 is the pretty awesome camera. The N900 has an auto-focus 5.0MP camera with a dual-LED flash (with a sliding cover). The optics are by Carl Zeiss which are regarded as being high quality in the world of cameras. I’ve got several shots taken by the iPhone [...]

Marketing around ‘Smart Devices’ has taken off and as I wandered around CES last week it was evident that there’s a bit of land-grab going on. Battery life claims are getting out of hand in my opinion so I took the time to write a little ‘warning’ article this morning. You can find it at [...]

The other Moorestown-based MIDPhone to be demonstrate at CES was the AAVA. This one is just a prototype but as with the LG GW990, it shows just how small devices based on the Moorestown platform can be.

The 5-inch tablet was shown today at CES 2010 in Dell’s suite at the Palm’s hotel in Las Vegas and given an official name. The Dell Mini 5. It will be part of the Dell Mini line of Netbook offerings included with the Dell Mini 3 and other Mini devices. No launch date was given and [...]

There hasn’t been much that has excited me at CES so far this year, but this Inbrics MIDphone running Android is probably the coolest thing that I’ve seen yet. They are calling it the Inbrics M1 MID for now, but don’t confuse it with the UMID M1 [Portal page]. It’s been a while since we’ve [...]

I was considering using the phrase “who isn’t?” somewhere in this post, but I would be remiss not to mention that I’m actually happy to hear this news. There are already a bunch of random no-name devices out of Asia that will boot Android, but when a big company steps in, others take notice, and [...]

You’re looking at a picture of a Tegra 2 based concept that looks very slick and very production-ready. It’s also marked up as the Asus EeePC Touch Series. I have a video that i’ll update later. JKKMobile is also posting a video as I write this. Check here for jkkmobile’s video. Tweet
