BYD Alice / Viewsonic VTablet At CeBIT

Posted on 04 March 2010 By Chippy

BYD is a Chinese company that makes cars and IT products. You might have seen a few of their designs popping up branded as Viewsonic and in this video JKK gets some hands-on time with the ‘Alice’ that is also known as the Viewsonic Vtablet. Interestingly the OED version here is shown as running Tegra 1 but the Viewsonic version has been talked about as having Tegra 2.

We still don’t have any information on pricing or availability and once again, this is a raw, open-source build of Android with no Google apps or marketplace. Fingers crossed that Viewsonic, and many other tablet OEMs, can get over that hurdle soon.
