I just stopped by the ARM room at Computex to pre-register for the press event and they kindly gave me a press pack which gives a hint about what they’ll be talking about. This is interesting because the press pack and press release talks almost exclusively about Android 2.2 as if nothing else mattered right [...]

Computex is one of the biggest and definitely the most important trade show of the year for mobile computing. Not only is it located in the heartland of notebook, netbook and mobile computer design and manufacture but it’s an event that I get additional access to through our friends at Intel. I’m part of the [...]

This won’t take long. What we’ve got here is a Moblin build that has picked itself up from being stopped-dead in it’s tracks buy a huge corporate direction change. I imagine that partners that were working with Moblin before MeeGo was announced are pleased that they can finally get back to work in optimising their [...]

Wondermedia are a subsidiary of VIA Technologies that launched their product, an ARM-based platform for low-power computing appliances, this time last year. We’ve had a few emails and ‘heads-up’ from people about potential issues with the Enso Zenpad but because of the lack of resource here to investigate , we just haven’t been able to give you any reliable information. It’s a question I’ve been looking for an answer to for a long time. There are plenty of tablet manufacturers that are in the dark too. Why doesn’t Google allow Android Marketplace on non-phone devices? It’s crippled the Archos 5, the Camangi Webstation, the Compaq Airlife 100 and many other devices. There are also OEMs [...]
