The internet was abundant yesterday with news that Google had announced Android 2.2 or Froyo. Whilst a new version of Android with extra speed and flash support is certainly an exciting thing, for me it was over-shadowed by the news of Google TV. I know, I know, why would another box to go under the [...]

As the ZenPad and EviGroup Wallet are both coming from the same OED (SMiTs) it’s no surprise to hear that both the ZenPad and EviGroup Wallet are available at the same time. Apparently in-stock now, the 199 Euro (215 Euro for the chrome edged version as seen above) mini-tablet doesn’t come with 3G but does [...]

The Enso ZenPad (AKA Evigroup Wallet) [Portal page] is now shipping from enso-now.com. Lot’s of new info about this device now that it’s shipping: Though the device is essentially a WiFi-only Android MID, it appears as though you can equip it with internal GPS for $25 on top of the starting $155 price. Additionally, it [...]

Thanks to over 500 people that stepped into the live Open Review of the Compaq Airlife 100 yesterday. We spent 2.5 hours going over the device and tested as much as we could. Thanks also to JKKMobile for joining-in via Skype and helping out. During the session we made three live recordings which are now [...]

This is fantastic. The Compaq Airlife 100 is sitting on my desk right now. I’m excited. It’s one of the first true smart-books / social netbooks (*1) and a device I believe will show us exactly how touch, always-on, always connected and social networking will play a role in netbooks of the future. It will [...]

I’ve always imagined the Apple iPad to be one of the easiest purchases a Dad could make. It looks good (no more ugly laptops on the coffee table,) it can be used for multi-player games (something to bring the family together) and it can be used around the house (no more being stuck in the [...]

That Rockchip CPU has been turning up in a lot of devices recently. It’s a Chinese manufactured CPU based on the ARM9 design [We’re checking on that due to varying information] and clearly it’s cheap because all the devices I’ve seen with it recently have been around the $200 mark. The Archos 7 Home Tablet [...]

We highlighted last week that the EviGroup Wallet would be going into production very soon. It seems that SMiTs is also getting ready to put their design through production for Enso as the ZenPad.

My apologies to anyone who got excited when we posted our last article about Archos 7 Home Tablet availability. It turned out to be, as we suspected, a trick by an online retailer. (Mental note: Never link to these chancers again!) In a U.S. press release last week (PDF), Archos announced that the Tablet will [...]

Is it fair to be comparing a $250 5” tablet with a $500 9” one? Yes because a) people have been asking about it b) comparing anything to a device that gets people thinking, talking and experimenting is worthwhile in my book. Thanks to the German blog, TouchMeMobile I’ve got an iPad this week and [...]

Thanks to TouchMeMobile, a German website that is covering the same beat as us here at Carrypad, I’ve got an iPad to test for a week. Before I start though I had to do this. This is possibly the youngest person ever to test an iPad. 35-day old Nicklas took one look and was speechless. [...]
