I’ve been searching for a smartphone/cameraphone for a long time now. I’ve tested and analysed, reported and posted. I’ve also created a tip-list, This post goes over some of my recent cameraphone thoughts and lists the tips that might help you choose your next cameraphone. It’s not just about the megapixels.

Jenn of Pocketables.net is obviously working at full-steam now. A long time friend and co-op partner with UMPCPortal and Carrypad, she’s not only got a baby to look after, she’s got two new baby web sites too! Having run a couple of device-specific sites myself, I know how much fun it is. You get a [...]

With all the pre-order and launch day issues that have been going down with the recent iPhone 4 [Portal page] release, it’s quite possible that you may have managed to pick up an iPhone 4, while many of your friends could not, potentially leaving you without anyone to try the new FaceTime feature with. Fortunately, [...]

Following a slight set-back on a UMPC product that was due to turn up today I’ve decided to order something else to take my mind off the pain. It’s the Huawei S7 Android tablet.

In the keynote that announced the iPhone 4 [Portal page], Steve Jobs told the world that the iPhone 4 features a 5MP camera. A decent bump from the previous iPhone 3GS’s 3.2MP camera, but still a far cry from some of the latest phones out there which are rocking 8MP cameras (see: HTC Incredible). Jobs [...]

You won’t find it here… not today anyway. You’ll find plenty of iPhone 4 coverage as we thoroughly test the device, but unlike many sites out there, we won’t be ready to publish our iPhone 4 “review” until we’ve actually had time to put the device through it’s proper paces. Here at Carrypad, we believe [...]

Here’s a quick look at the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS facing off head to head. I didn’t cover too much stuff in this video, so if there are more comparisons that you’d like to see, speak up in the comments, and do it soon; the iPhone 3GS is going away (far away) very [...]

I can’t believe I forgot to post the video of the Huawei S7 [information] from Computex. I wrote, excitedly, about it soon after I saw it, edited the video, rendered the video and then promptly forgot to upload it. Thank goodness Liliputting jogged my mind today with a post about the price. Before you check [...]

I reviewed the Compaq Airlife 100 last month. It was a device that both excited me and yet at the same time, highlighted the huge gap that exists between Android and a full-internet, desktop computing environment. The slim, lightweight, location-enabled, app-store enabled always-on, always connected capabilities are something that every netbook designer is going to [...]

We, along with nearly everyone else, previously presumed that the iPhone 4 [Portal page (updated)] would feature 256MB of RAM. However, to the delight of some 600,000 pre-order customers, which Apple reportedly acquired on the 15th, the iPhone 4 will come with 512MB of RAM, double that of the previous iPhone 3GS and the iPad. [...]

One of the promises of the iPad [Portal page] is that its large capacitive touch surface would be great for having multiple people interact with content on the screen. It’s taken a little while, but I’ve finally found some games for the iPad that are, not only fun, but great for more than one player [...]

Today was pre-order day for the iPhone 4 [Portal page] and things went far from smooth. Both Apple and AT&T’s pre-order processes were taken to their knees by the hoard of people attempting to pre-order the iPhone 4. If you were trying to place an iPhone pre-order, you’d be lucky if you actually managed to [...]

Here’s one for Chippy, the much anticipated Google Maps Navigation yesterday went live in 11 more countries.
