Despite pushing the “1080p” line all up and down their press release, it looks like the Acer’s Iconia Tab A500 isn’t actually walking out the door with 1080p capabilities [...]

The Notion Ink Adam [tracking page] may have wow-ed most at the CES 2011 but the proof is always in the pudding once the tablet is truly unleashed for general consumption in the consumer market. It took a little while, but Engadget’s Sean Hollister managed to get his hands on a unit and wrote a good [...]

The Galaxy Tab 8.9, obviously the one with the 8.9 inch screen as opposed to the 10 inch, has appeared in a hands-on video from Germany, courtesy of NewGadgets.de. It’s met one of Samsung’s key requirements too: It’s thinner than the iPad 2. We’re looking forward to seeing what customizations Samsung includes with Honeycomb as [...]

A growing body of evidence is suggesting that Amazon will be moving into the Android tablet market sometime in 2011. The question on my mind is: how can Amazon’s tablet differentiate itself from the rest of the pack? Amazon is already involved closely with Android (and even iOS) thanks to a number of applications that [...]

Thanks to everyone (350+ people) that dropped in on the live session with the Acer Iconia Tab A500 last night. I have to say that there’s no better way than to spend a focused 3 hours testing a new device than with a camera and knowledgeable audience! We recorded three sections of the live session [...]

Either Woot is selling these things like hotcakes, or they bought way too much stock and need to get rid of them… this is the third time we’ve seen the deal-a-day site, Woot.com, offer this well speced tablet. It’s the same device as last time so what we wrote previously still applies: Today’s Woot is [...]

The Acer Iconia Tab A500, a 10” Honeycomb tablet arrived today and, as per the ‘law’ I unboxed it straight away for you. Interestingly, it crashed during the first tests! I was messing with an external keyboard at the time but that wasn’t expected. I also found out that there’s only one language installed and [...]

Update: The session is complete and the live videos and notes are now available here. Honeycomb tablets are starting to filter-in so naturally, I need a permanent device to test upgrades and new applications with. There are three models available in Europe (my location) at the moment. The Motorola Xoom is a tablet that I’m [...]

An announcement on the Google mobile blog tells us that Google Talk with video and voice chat will be released to Nexus S [product page][review] devices in the next few weeks as part of the Android 2.3.4 update. This is great news in itself, but once you realize that it’s only for Android devices running Android [...]

You’d think that creating a WiFi-only of one of the most popular 7” tablets would be as easy as not installing the components that make cellular communication possible, but it looks like Samsung may have made some more significant changes to their WiFi-only Galaxy Tab which appears to be using an older CPU and a [...]

If you’re in the market for a 7” Slate, Samsung’s 7” Galaxy Tab is the undeniable leader in this area… but it’s definitely not the only device you should consider. Take, for instance, Enspet’s Identity Tab e201. This 7” device is nearly spec-for-spec identical to Samsung’s Tab, less a lower screen resolution, but it actually [...]

HTC and Verizon have finally gone public with the HTC Droid Incredible 2, which has been known about for some time. It’s available now from Verizon for $299 on-contract. While I’d love to tell you that the Droid Incredible 2 is going to be the best thing since sliced bread, it actually doesn’t have many [...]

A leaked Dell Tablet roadmap has revealed three new touchscreen devices may be released this year starting with an Android 10 inch tablet in June. The leak mentions the Android based 10 inch Dell Streak Pro, a third generation convertible XT tablet (Windows based, and not so portable given that it will probably weigh is [...]
