Motorola and Intel Announcement Tomorrow – Likely to Be CloverTrail Tablet with Jelly Bean

Posted on 17 September 2012

Opinion – The most likely scenario for tomorrow’s Motorola / Intel announcement is a Wi-Fi only CloverTrail tablet with dual-core 1.8Ghz and Jelly Bean. There was a private meeting at IDF 2012 about CloverTrail at IDF and I wasn’t invited; Which is fine by me because there’s enough information being given at IDF to know, [...]

Posted on 27 February 2012

Qualcomm gave us an update on Mirasol this morning. If you remember, Mirasol is a daylight-readable (transflective) display technology with color. Power-saving, daylight readable and now with touch and [...]

Glasses Free 1080p 3D on Qualcomm Tablet

Posted on 27 February 2012

If there’s one place glasses-free 3D might work while it requires relatively direct-on viewing angles, it’s tablets. I’m heading to Barcelona today to attend Mobile World Congress where I expect to be bombarded with phone, smartphone, tablet, app, operating systems and telecom news but this year I’m going with a specific focus. Two years later with their next-gen architecture, Moorestown, they tackled the standby power drain and managed to get it into a phone. I had [...]
