Flybook V5 spotted again.
I’ve been watching my RSS feeed for abnormalities like a hawk. The Flipstart teaser sent the screen red earlier and i’ve still got a Flybook V5 on my radar…
Yesterday, MobilitySite reported a brief ‘here’s something that could be new’ from the Flybook stand and after a bit of research, It turned out to be the V5. Gottabemobile posted some more images today and reported that it has an 8.9″ touch screen and 1.2 ghz Core Duo (U2500) processor.
I still don’t have the full specs but it looks like the LG C1 Express/Xnote might have a little competition. They’re both , 3G enabled and looking gorgeous!

To me this is a Small Factor PC. It’s not a UMPC. There is not way that you can use this device while you are standing for example. The touch screen will allow you to do certain things but you don’t have any buttons around the monitor to help you to do other things, like press some hot keys, etc.

Did you watch the video? The idea of having the mouse buttons in such a position is that you can hold it with two hands and use it like a UMPC tablet. I’ve tried it, it works! (Same principle on the V33i.).
Here is an example:

plus it is convertible so you can use it as a tablet PC. I agree its on the high-limit of UMPCs but its certainbly something to consider.
Regards.

The V5 will shortley be with us. And trust me you will wont one. And yes you can use it standing up, also the built in web cam at 1.3MP is just brillant it so clear.
I have a VM now and am looking forward to upgrading to the V5

Tried the sim card on the flybook IT DOES NOT WORK on Vista. No drivers apparently we should be told by Microsoft that 3g does not work on Vista but some how they must be to busy telling us how good they are grrrrr…
